Seattle’s Bavarian Meats makes a world famous Landjaeger.  This fabulous cured meat is a staple afternoon snack for many living near Slough Food.  No refrigeration required – Landjaeger provides perfect ‘on the go’ nourishment.

Slough Food carries the top quality Palacios Spanish Chorizo.  This unique product is simply delicious:  paprika (smoky not spicy), salt, and garlic.  There are no preservatives – no nitrates or nitrites, and this chorizo is dry cured, so no refrigeration required.  Chorizo and eggs is a classic, but this versatile cured meat can be used in many dishes from soups to salads, pasta or risotto creations, or simply eaten picnic style with a hunk of cheese and a torn off piece of Breadfarm Baguette.

From Molinari & Sons, we offer both the dry and the toscano salamis.  For sandwiches, salads, snacks, cocktail hour, whenever.

Salumi Artisan Cured Meats– yes, Armandino (Dino) Batali, that Salumi Artisan Cured Meats!  What more is there to say about this famous salumeria?  Slough Food tries (we often sell out!) to carry the following selection of Salumi meats:

  • finocchiona:  fennel, black pepper, touch of curry
  • hot sopressata:  hot and spicy
  • mole:  chocolate, cinnamon, ancho and chipotle chilies
  • salumi’s house salami:  mild, touch of ginger, signature salami
  • smoked paprika:  smoky paprika, kick of heat
  • and pancetta!

Prosciutto di Parma is one of civilization’s greatest culinary achievements.  Do not be fooled by the pre-packaged stuff at the grocery store that calls itself prosciutto.  It’s not.  And look at the price per pound (small print) – you’re not saving any money.  There is value in having the real Prosciutto di Parma freshly sliced for you at Slough Food.  How fresh is our Prosciutto, you ask?  We usually go through a leg a week, although the record is a whole leg in two days.  Come to Slough Food and buy a few slices of this affordable old world delicacy.

Fresh Sausages!  Every week since Slough Food opened (April 16th, 2004), we have received a delivery of fresh Italian Style Pork Sausages (both the Hot & the Mild) from Cas Cioppo Brothers of Seattle (Ballard).  The sausages come in big – not breakfast size – links which can be chopped up and added to soup or pastas, OR pan sauteed whole and braised in wine, OR oven roasted, OR bar-b-qued, OR googled for a thousand more preparations.

From Berkeley, California, Fra’Mani Handcrafted Meats!  All Fra’Mani products are made from all natural pork raised with no antibiotics, no added hormones, and a 100% vegetarian diet.  Also:  no added msg, gluten free, no nitrates or nitrites.  Slough Food currently carries their Salametto Salami.

And from Portland!  Olympic Provisions!  We carry just a few of their many fabulous products:

  • Pork Rillettes
  • Capicola
  • Mortadella
  • Loukanika Salami:  cumin, orange zest, and garlic
  • Saucisson Sec:  classic French salami with black pepper and garlic
